🩺 General Practitioner (GP) – Medical Assessor (DVLA-related work)
📍 Isle of Wight
💬 Looking for something a bit different from traditional GP work?
We’re speaking with GPs who are interested in flexible, assessment-based roles focused on evaluating medical fitness to drive.
👩⚕️ What does the role involve?
You’ll be carrying out structured medical assessments (e.g. vision, neurological, cardiovascular conditions) to support decisions around driver licensing.
This is:
- Non-patient-facing
- Structured, guidelines-based work
- Focused on clinical judgement rather than treatment
⏱️ How flexible is it?
Very. Sessions can be arranged around your current commitments, making it ideal for:
- Portfolio GPs
- Those reducing clinical sessions
- Semi-retired doctors
💡 Why consider this?
- A change from high-pressure clinical environments
- Predictable, assessment-focused work
- Opportunity to apply clinical expertise in a different way
✅ What do you need?
- GMC registration & licence to practise
- Experience as a GP (or relevant clinical background)
- Strong decision-making and report-writing skills
