Consultant – General Adult Psychiatry – Devizes

CPL UK Healthcare (formally RIG Locums) are currently looking for a General Adult Consultant, NHS based in Devizes, Wiltshire area.

The role offers highly negotiable rates for a dedicated psychiatrist. The trust seeks an enthusiastic Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry to work full-time and it would be excellent for someone wanting to broaden their experience of community and develop their clinical skills in a supportive and challenging environment. The team is well established with good support from senior clinical and managerial colleagues.

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Community Mental Health for West Wiltshire and Devizes. This post is an existing post, which has become vacant due to the post-holder moving into a new post.

Main duties of the job:

• As the post holder you will deliver direct interventions to service users at a level of intensity according to need including those service users who require an assertive approach who are difficult to engage. This will include on-going assessment, diagnoses (including review and clarification) and treatment of mental and physical health needs.
• As the post holder you will provide Medical input and leadership to the CMHT with particular responsibility for patients from surgeries.

As the post holder you will also:

• Provide advice to members of the Multi-Disciplinary Teams in the CMHT Team and attend regular Team MDT meetings.
• Assessment and treatment of outpatients in clinics.
• Hold CPA meetings for outpatients.
• Visit patients in their own place of residence if clinically indicated
• Liaise with other parts of the service and GPs and non-NHS organisations wherever applicable.
• Liaise with the Intensive and Inpatient services as appropriate to facilitate the smooth handover of clients between services.
• To fulfil the Responsible Clinician role with respect to patients subject to Community Treatment Orders.

Requirements:

• Full GMC License to practice
• Right to Work in the UK
• Relevant previous experience working in this type of position
• S12 is essential
