Role Overview
We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to work within the Blackpool Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) on a locum basis. This is a community-based post, and access to a car with own transport is essential.
The Blackpool CMHT is based at the Gateway Centre and consists of 3 Consultants. The team receives approximately 10 new referrals per week and operates a rapid assessment triage service that is multi-disciplinary, allowing assessment of up to 10 cases within 48 hours of referral.
The Consultant will hold a compact caseload of the most complex and unstable patients and will be available at short notice to provide consultation and clinical advice to other team members. The role does not require acting as a key worker.
Key Responsibilities

Management of a compact caseload of complex and high-risk cases

Clinical leadership and senior decision-making within the CMHT

Providing consultation and advice to multidisciplinary team members

Participation in rapid assessment and triage processes

MDT attendance

All other duties associated with a Consultant CMHT post
Essential Requirements

Consultant-level experience

Experience working within a Community Mental Health Team

AC status and own transport essential

Ability to work in a community-based setting
