Really unique Consultant Neurologist opportunity in Guernsey (Channel Islands: offering 20% flat tax rate on all earnings)
We are looking for a NHS experienced consultant or post CCT specialist to take on a permanent position on the stunning island of Guernsey.
This is a chance to take real ownership of a neurology service for a close-knit island community of around 65,000 people, helping to shape how specialist neurology care is delivered locally and reducing reliance on off-island pathways.
- Permanent Consultant Neurologist post
- £150,000 salary
- No formal on-call commitment
- Opportunity to develop and modernise the local neurology service
- Broad mix of elective and urgent neurology work
- Strong links with UK tertiary centres
- Flexible working discussions welcomed
- Sponsorship can be considered for eligible applicants
Alongside the clinical side, the lifestyle offering is a big draw:
- Short commutes , no more 1 to 2 hour travel days
- Coastal living with beaches, outdoor swimming, sailing and space to switch off
- A genuinely slower, more manageable pace of life
- Strong sense of community and safety
- Opportunity to practise medicine in a more personal, relationship-led environment
Clinically, this would suit someone who enjoys autonomy, service development and continuity of care. The successful candidate would be providing expert neurology input across a broad range of presentations, working closely with colleagues and tertiary centres, while helping to build an accessible, high-quality service for the island.
Would suit:
- Consultant Neurologists looking for better work/life balance
- Neurologists who enjoy service development and independent clinical practice
- Post-CCT / near-CCT doctors within 6 months of CCT
- Consultants with a subspecialty interest who would like to bring that into a smaller, flexible service
