CPL UK are pleased to invite applications for a Consultant Community Paediatrician permanent post as part of an exciting expansion within our NHS client’s Community Child Health service. Based in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside—on the border of Wales and in the shadow of the Black Mountains—this is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, forward-thinking department providing high-quality care to children and families across the county.

 

�� Location: Hereford
(With some peripheral clinics in local special schools. Travel between sites may be required.)

�� Role Overview
We are seeking paediatricians with a strong general Community Child Health background. Experience and interest in neurodevelopment and autism assessments is particularly desirable. We welcome applicants with complementary special interests, including neurodisability, ADHD, safeguarding, or LAC. There is scope for leadership roles and opportunities for on-the-job development of specialist areas.

 

�� Main Clinical Duties

  • Duties will align with your expertise and may include:

  • Statutory Health Assessments for Children in Care

  • Neurodevelopmental & ASD assessment clinics

  • Clinics in county special needs schools

  • General community paediatric clinics

  • Medical advice for education (EHCP/SEND support)

�� Job Plan & Time Allocation

  • Equal admin:clinic time (e.g. a 4-hour clinic = 4 hours admin)

  • SPA: 1.5 PA/week, with potential to increase to 2.5 PA for additional responsibilities

  • 1 PA of DCC for multi-agency work, school/nursery visits, MDTs, and related clinical admin
