Job Description:
An NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a committed and experienced General Adult Inpatient Consultant Psychiatrist to join our dedicated team in Edinburgh. This full-time, fixed-term position offers a unique opportunity to provide expert psychiatric care to adult inpatients, ensuring high-quality treatment and comprehensive patient management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the treatment of adult inpatients.
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic and integrated care.
- Supervise and support junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
- Implement evidence-based practices and ensure adherence to clinical governance standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatment plans.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
Requirements:
- Full registration with the GMC and inclusion on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry.
- Extensive experience working in inpatient psychiatry.
- Strong clinical leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
