Job Description:
An NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) General Adolescent Unit (GAU) in Birmingham. This full-time, fixed-term position offers a unique opportunity to provide specialized inpatient care to young people, overseeing their treatment and progress within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall responsibility for the treatment of young people admitted to the unit.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Lead and support the multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality patient care.
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure the implementation of evidence-based practices and adherence to clinical governance standards.
- Collaborate with other services and agencies to ensure integrated and holistic care for young patients.
- Participate in quality improvement projects to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatment plans.
Requirements:
- Full registration with the GMC and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Section 12/Approved Clinician (AC) Status is essential.
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in CAMHS is desirable.
- Extensive experience working in inpatient CAMHS.
- Strong clinical leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
