Job Description:

An NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our SET CAMHS – Crisis Team in Essex. This fixed-term position offers a unique opportunity to provide specialized mental health care to children and adolescents in crisis, working within a dynamic and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and develop treatment plans for children and adolescents in crisis.
  • Lead the multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality and timely interventions.
  • Provide clinical leadership, support, and supervision to junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with other services and agencies to ensure integrated and holistic care for young patients.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of innovative care models within the CAMHS crisis service.
  • Engage in quality improvement projects to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical governance standards and participate in regular audits and inspections.

Requirements:

  • Full registration with the GMC and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent.
  • Experience working in CAMHS, particularly within a crisis team setting.
  • Strong clinical leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
