Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist – Child and Adolescent

Job Description:

An NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist specializing in Child and Adolescent Mental Health to join their team. This short-term, fixed-term position provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the mental health and well-being of young people in Sheffield within a supportive and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans for children and adolescents.
  • Lead and support the multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with other services and agencies to ensure integrated and holistic care for young patients.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of innovative care models within the CWAMHS service.
  • Engage in quality improvement projects to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical governance standards and participate in regular audits and inspections.


  • Full registration with the GMC and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience working in CAMHS.
  • Strong clinical leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
